Latest on Pension Case:
The SLP filled by GOI against the order of division bench of Rajstan
High Court has came for hearing on 18th Feb 2013.
On that day court Passed the order and allowed 4 weeks time and next
4 weeks time to both parties to file their statements and also ordered
to list before vacation bench.
4 weeks time was completed by 18th April2013, So it was listed before
registrar on 29th to see whether the process is completed.
Since the process is completed, it will come for final hearing before
vacation bench on any day after 14th May2013.
Comrades, AIRRBEA is ready to fight the case and already engaged the
advocates to represent our association effectively.
RRB ACT AMENDMENT BILL 2013: We have already opposed the move of the
GOI to amend the section 6 of said act to allow private ownership in
the RRBs. Our team of leadership met the leaders of various political
parties including the main opposition party ie Bhartiya Janta
Party,the CPI(M), the Telugu Deshem,the CPI on 29th and 30TH April
2013,and sent memorandum to all otherpolitical parties with request
and appeal to raise their voice in parliament for otherwise to stop
such any RRB and anti Rural People move to dilute the basic objective
for setting up of RRBs.
We advise our units and state federations to seriously take up the
issue for massive campaign amongst the membership, our customers,
public representatives, panchayats and others concerned to mobilize
the public opinion against the ill advised attempt to handover the
RRBs in a platter to the private sector and corporate, who are well
known for their exploitative activities in financial sector and
elsewhere.
It is learnt that the bill which was placed by the Hon;ble Finance
Minister in the Parliament on 22 April 2013 will be referred to the
Standing Committee on Finance. We are seriously persuing the Hon:ble
Members of Parliament in the Standing Committee So that they may
seriously react to the GOI attempt to privatise the RRBs System
ignoring the needs of strengthening them under the control of the
Central Government. Further developments and organizational programmes
will be intimated in due course, after successful observance of lunch
time demonstration observed on 29th April 2013.
It may be noted that we have already contacted all the other apex
unions in RRB sector and arranging a meeting to be held at New Delhi
on 12th Aprli 2013 so that Joint Programme can be launched against the
threat of pushing/mobilizing private share into the capital ketty of
the RRBs.
Our meeting with officials of Department of Financial Services:
During our camp at Delhi we also met officials of Department of
financial Services and discussed the pending issue .it is learnt that
law ministry has not yet replied anything on the pension matter.
Pending Amalgamation Proposals: There are no pending proposals for
amalgamation for want of opinion from the state Governments. But the
process will continue.
Computer increment: We have lodged our protest on the issue of private
share in RRBs and denial of Computer increment against the verdicts of
Hon;ble Patna HC and Karnatka High Court.
Our Units and State Federations should be ready with campaign to
implement any short of agitational programme to be decided in due
course.
With warm greetings
Yours Comradely
A. Sayeed Khan
